My name is Ruta. I lived in Vilnius all my life. When I was a child, I spent hours in my grandma‘s kitchen watching her cook. She shared with me her passion for food and taught me how to create incredible dishes with simple, quality products.
For me cooking is a relaxing meditation through which I express my creativity. I also see cooking as being very much like painting. The products I use in my dishes are like the colours a painter uses on canvas to create images. And the myriad of tones and colours one sees in paintings are just like the unforgettable flavours and smells one tastes in great cooking.
My family and friends have been my food tasters, teachers and critics for years. I feel now that it is time I opened my kitchen to you. Welcome!

We were really looking forward to our meal with Ruta. She picked us up at our hotel and drove us to her fabulous house. We were introduced to her husband as a fourth dinner guest. What a lovely evening we had- wonderful food, cooked by someone who is obviously in love with cooking. We had some great conversation and learnt a great deal about our host's country and history.
