Good day good people! It is time for delicious Polish PIEROGI lessons. Our culinary meeting takes place in the beautiful Polish countryside not far from Krakow – about 30km south of the city towards Lanckorona and Wadowice. I will prepare a traditional Polish meal with local produce, much of which is grown in my cottage garden in the heart of the countryside. Before pierogi cooking lessons we will sit down outside in the garden and enjoy the fresh air. (depends on the weather!) For sure, there will be several well-known dishes, starting with a soup – probably chicken broth, or fresh vegetable soup, then a main course of meat grilled on an open fire, or goulash cooked on a traditional wooden stove. For dessert, look out for delicious cheesecake with chocolate sauce or salty caramel, sprinkled with wild berries from the garden or Cracovian style apple pie. Sometimes we cook a traditional “prażone” on an open fire – ie a cast iron cooking pot filled with potatoes, bacon, cabbage, onion, wild duck or beef. We will prepare together famous fresh dumplings with different stuffings (lots of fun and delicious!) Afterwards, we can go for a stroll in the surrounding forest or seat around a bonfire. The whole event will take 3-4 hours. Price is 100 zl per person, which includes the both the dinner and the cooking lesson. If needed, we can help arrange transport to and from Krakow at an additional cost.
Feel free to bring your own alcohol
Hello! I’m Marta, I'm sculptor, but i also love cooking. I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful home town, Krakow, both through the website I run eataway.com and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person.
I also love cooking. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared for my family and friends, and fun evenings of conversation and shared experiences. I’ve often thought when travelling myself how great it would be to have a meal with a local person.
Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 8 people at my home in Krakow every Wednesday from around 7pm. And you’re invited. Please join me!
