Mughlai Dinner

Mughal empire established by Persian warrior Babur in 1526, the Mughal empire's rule eventually covered most of the Indian sub-continent and Central Asia and lasted well into the nineteenth century. Emperor Akbar (1556-1605), who is widely seen as the greatest of the Mughal emperors, extended Mughal control over Bengal.

Mughlai cuisine is strongly influenced by Central Asian cuisine, the region where the Turco-Mongol Mughal rulers originally hailed from, and it has in turn strongly influenced the regional cuisines of modern North India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The tastes of Mughlai cuisine vary from extremely mild to spicy and are often associated with a distinctive aroma and the taste of ground and whole spices. In Bangladesh, we serve Mughlai food in the festive and special occasion.
