Pierogi ruskie, Belgian fries, tortilla and placki – what do they all have in common? Potatoes of course! There’s nowhere better this weekend to find out more about this humble vegetable, so beloved of the Poles, than the (Little) Najedzeni Fest! at Stary Kleparz, where between 11 am and 5 pm, the potato in all its forms will be honoured by local producers, cooks and restaurants. The Najedzeni Fest! is now a regular event in Krakow’s culinary calendar, where the most interesting cooking initiatives can be seen, and where cooks, restaurants, local farmers, food bloggers and internet shops can meet and interact. With Polish farmers now turning their attention to lifting potatoes from their fields, join Eataway cooks this Sunday at the festival as they lift your spirits with their own potato-based meals, inspired by recipes from Poland, and abroad.
