Kimchi is an ancient Korean dish traditionally served with or in just about every meal. This fermented food typically consists of napa cabbage or white radish salted and mixed with red chili peppers, garlic, ginger, salted fish, and other ingredients. Not only is Kimchi popular for its delicious taste, but is also famous for its medicinal properties. Being cited by Health Magazine as one of the world's five 'healthiest foods', Kimchi is packed with antioxidants, rich in vitamins and holds anti-bacterial, anti-carcinogenic and probiotic properties.
I'm so pleased to be able to introduce you to Kimchi through this workshop. Kimchi to me can be described as my soul food. I don't even want to imagine living abroad for 10 odd years without being able to make Kimchi. Therefore, being able to share my soul food as well as my Korean culture and customs with you all is a very special moment for me. Through this time we spend together, I hope you will begin to understand the beauty of Korea.

The youngest of 6 sisters, Mira was born and brought up in the town of Haenam, famous across the country for its food. Mira was taught how to cook in a family setting, and was also brought up with a love of fresh ingredients – both from the family property, and from the nearby sea.
Mira has been living in Krakow for over 7 years, and has even created her own small garden on her terrace in Salwator where she grows vegetables and herbs essential to create genuine Korean food.
