Dear cooks and cooks-to-be, welcome to our Eataway picnic at our home in Marcyporeba for a great day : ) Our culinary meeting takes place in the beautiful Polish countryside not far from Krakow – about 30km south of the city towards Lanckorona and Wadowice. I will prepare a traditional Polish meal with local produce, much of which is grown in my cottage garden. You can join the Eataway team in a magical garden in the heart of the countryside. We will be cooking on a open fire outside and enjoying local produce in the fresh air. You will have a great chance to meat other Eataway cooks and exchange ideas about your cooking experience with our project. We are planning to interview cooks for a documentary video, so be prepared : ) Afterwards, we can go for a stroll in the surrounding forest or play croquet ( our home traditional game : ) if you’ve never cooked before , now’s the time to discover a new passion. As there is no charge for this picnic, please bring some food and something to drink so we can all share!
We are going to cook on an open fire, on a grill as well as on the fire – ie a cast iron cooking pot filled with potatoes, bacon, cabbage, onion, wild duck or beef. Please bring with you your favourite delicious snacks and drinks to share.....
some alcohol and soft drinks will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own bottle
Feel free to bring your own alcohol
Hello! I’m Marta, I'm sculptor, but i also love cooking. I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful home town, Krakow, both through the website I run eataway.com and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person.
I also love cooking. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared for my family and friends, and fun evenings of conversation and shared experiences. I’ve often thought when travelling myself how great it would be to have a meal with a local person.
Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 8 people at my home in Krakow every Wednesday from around 7pm. And you’re invited. Please join me!
