For the last 5 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person.

My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.

Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!

What a unique idea came across marta,s kitchen purely by chance when i was doing research for things to do in Krakow.

So glad we went for this,

It was also a birthday surprise for my wife thus she had no idea were we were going or what we would be having only that it was an evening meal

There were about 14 of us in total from numerous different countries

Such a great way

to enjoyed a home prepared and cooked traditional polish meal

With a lot of the ingredients actually from her own garden !

We had numerous different dishes and numerous different polish delicacies far to many to remember or even pronounce correctly !

But it was a wonderful experience wonderful meal full credit to Marta and her helpers

For something completely out of your comfort zone give this a try ,highly recommended

This is the second time that I have experienced a dinner with Marta, and both times were outstanding. The first was in the Fall of 2015 when I was traveling with one of our daughters. We had a fantastic meal and great conversation with fellow diners from various other countries. The experience was so good we made certain to return -- this time with my wife and our other two daughters and the boyfriend of one. Again, the dinner itself was amazing, and we all enjoyed the company of visitors from Europe, Asia as well as some fellow Americans. Marta is a marvelous cook and a very warm human being. The dinner was the highlight of our trip to Poland.

Marta was amazing! She invited us into our home and taught us how to make amazing Polish delicacies. There was only four of us in the class and the small size was perfect to being able to learn how to cook all these yummy foods. Marta was so sweet and when we asked about fruit pierogis she just offered for us to make them! Marta is an amazing woman who has a beautiful home and was so welcoming. It was the highlight of our entire 6 week trip to Europe! I highly recommend her class!

We were greeted by Marta in her beautiful apartment with open arms, freshly made coffee and smiles all round. During the session we had the opportunity to make the dough from scratch and practice shaping the pierogi with the delicious selection of pre-made fillings. Whilst the dough was resting we were given a lesson on the process of fermentation. Not only did we have a chance to taste some of Marta's fermented products and all the pierogi with goose soup but we were treated to not one but two homemade desserts both of which used produce sourced from Marta's very own forest. It was great to hear all about her food journey and her mission to create a worldwide community of local cooks. We felt very at ease and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Maybe we'll go back out when the next the potato picking party is :)

What a lovely evening! Terrific food, good company, lively conversation. Marta and Mark are great hosts, and our meal was even better than we had anticipated. Let's see: a welcome-to-our-home shot of homemade fruit-infused vodka, appetizer with herring in sour cream, slice of sausage, and a radish; soup, a delicious chicken broth with mashed potato and a few sausage slices; a thick beef step served with roasted potato and two kinds of cabbage, plus red or white wine. And extraordinary cheesecake with a caramel sauce and nuts and stewed plums. Our group represented three countries (Poland, US, and UK), and we enjoyed congenial conversation on many subjects. Highly recommended!

This program was a new adventure for me.

I don't speak English well and I have to join alone.

But Martha was very kind and comfortable.

The food prepared for the guests was quite enough and delicious.

Thank you again to Martha and the guests who cared about me and my English.

Another perfect lazy, colourful, cosy and tasty day away from the reality of everyday life. We learnt about the art of kimchi from the fantastic Mira, who brought a little bit of Korea to the Polish countryside, and were inspired by Bozena who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of how different cultures around the world ferment their foods (it seems that there isn't anything you can't ferment), and brought back to our good old Polish roots by Marta who started off this year's sauerkraut.

I had a wonderful evening at Marta’s. It was an infinitely more enriching experience than eating in a restaurant, especially as a solo traveler. When I arrived Marta was making pierogi and we acould all try making one ourselves. We had traditional soup made from a fermented base, stuffed cabbage leaves with tomato sauce, pierogi and delicious cheesecake with caramel sauce, washed down with red wine. The food was great, but the sense of international community whilst meeting lovely people was even better. The presence of a film crew making an Italian tv programme just added further spice to the evening. Marta is an inspiration for cooking, hospitality and international relations and I can’t recommend this experience highly enough.
